What is "the eye"?
The secret sauce anyone can have.
Luke Ayers

My first ever photo I took which I was proud of was a flower. My NEXT favourite ever photo taken was a sunset, and to this day there is still nothing else quite like it.
If you want to practice your photography and you don't even have a camera with you, here's what's to do.
Go for a walk and LOOK.
Look for moments.
But not just any moments.
Moments which seem to SAY something to you.
I don't mean that they will start talking, I mean that they communicate something to you—anything!
Could be a feeling, could be a "huh, that's interesting", could be a whup, could be a poochie-poo, could be whatever the f*** makes you find it interesting.
Because chances are, if YOU find that it says something to you, it will in many cases say something to others as well if you showed them.
When some people are said to "have a good eye", it's only because of this:
The KNOW when they see a moment which is speaking. And that ability (which anyone can practice and eventually do) is worth more than any camera you could ever buy. Because THAT'S where the magic of photography really stems from.
Try it yourself and tell me I'm wrong about this.
Best,
Luke
